  1. Not the kind of team play I like to see that results in a goal of the week. It’s not what you want to show off as the exclamation point for the weeks work in Major League Socer.

  2. It was a weird goal. It was like Martins tripped through 5 defenders. Skillful no doubt…. you see the class of the player clearly in his graceful maneuvers to initiate and finish the move, but also in his and his improvisations when he loses his balance as he slices through. Still, Portland really should’ve done better and that goal put the game firmly to bed.

  3. I think it is horrible defending. Papparato just kind of half chasing him the whole time and the defenders just get in each others way. No one commits as Martins approaches the 18 yrd box. I’ve seen little evidence Papparato is an effective defender and even less evidence he cares. Despite Kah’s short comings at least cares and gives his best.

  4. Looks like the Obafemi Martins who tore it up in the BPL when he was at Newcastle. I think Twellman got it right he has his confidence back, having Dempsey in the line up takes some of the pressure off him and he’s playing to his ability. This is good for MLS, I like it!
