Manchester City’s final preparation match before their defense of the English Premier League title takes place on Sunday afternoon.

Man City take on Arsenal in the annual preseason warm-up, the FA Community Shield, looking to start their 2014/2015 season on the right foot. While Man City were somewhat quiet in terms of their summer transfer business, Arsenal had no problem splashing the cash, signing Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy, and Calum Chambers to their squad.

A number of other teams in Europe play some of their final friendly matches before starting their seasons next week. Tottenham take on Schalke, Liverpool face Borussia Dortmund, and Chelsea face Hungarian side Ferencvaros.

Ligue 1 began their season on Friday afternoon as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paris Saint-Germain traveled to Stade de Reims. Ibrahimovic scored a goal but also missed a penalty in the 2-2 draw. In addition, AS Monaco kick off their season against FC Lorient and Marseille travel to Bastia in interesting opening matches this weekend.

Elsewhere in the world, Liga MX and MLS continue, with Club America and the Seattle Sounders both must-watch teams this weekend.
