Sepp Blatter will have at least one challenger in the next FIFA presidential elections.

Former FIFA executive Jerome Champagne wrote on his campaign website that he intends to run for FIFA president in the 2015 elections, against one Sepp Blatter. Champagne has contacted all 209 federations to tell them that he’ll be a candidate.

“I have the honor of informing you that I have just written to the FIFA Ad-hoc Electoral
Committee and its president, Mr. Domenico Scala, to confirm my intention to run for FIFA
president,” Champagne wrote.

Champaign, a Frenchman, is hoping to reform FIFA and make it a more transparent organization. In his letter, he states that he hopes the presidential candidates can debate publicly in front of all 209 FIFA members.

PERU TO FACE EL SALVADOR IN SOUTH FLORIDA

Peru could be returning to the USA this fall.

According to multiple reports, Peru will travel to Fort Lauderdale on Oct. 14 to face El Salvador in a friendly match at Lockhart Stadium. The match was first announced on www.WorldClassLive.com, with a page stating tickets will go on sale on Wednesday.

Reports in Peru state that the Peruvian FA are in discussions with El Salvador and that nothing is confirmed, but the friendly is expected to be finalized soon. Unfortunately, that game takes place on the same night that the U.S. Men’s National Team will be playing Honduras in nearby Boca Raton.

Peru are coming off two, 2-0 victories over Iraq in the United Arab Emirates and over Qatar in Qatar during the September international break.

NEW-LOOK HULL DRAW WEST HAM IN EXCITING MONDAY SHOWDOWN

Abel Hernandez gave Hull City and fans a sneak peak of what to expect in the future.

The record signing for Hull City stated in his debut and scored in a thrilling 2-2 draw with West Ham at the KC Stadium on Monday evening. Enner Valencia, a fellow South America, also scored a terrific strike to put West Ham on the board.

Hernandez put Hull on the board in the 39th minute, redirecting Ahmed Elmohamady’s cross from the right past West Ham goalkeeper Adrian. Five minutes into the second half, Valencia breathed life back into the match with an absolute howitzer to tie the score.

Former West Ham midfielder Mo Diame struck back in the 64th minute for Hull City but an own goal three minutes later by Curtis Davies tied the scoreline again.

VERRATTI SIGNS LONG-TERM EXTENSION

One of Europe’s most promising youngsters has pledged his future to Paris Saint-Germain.

The French club announced on Monday that Marco Verratti has penned a contract extension through 2019, tying him to the club where he’s won two straight Ligue 1 titles. The diminutive 21-year-old midfielder first joined the team in July 2012 in a transfer from Lille.

“All of Europe wants Marco Verratti, and each year, he shows his desire to be a long term part of the Paris Saint-Germain project,” Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Paris Saint-Germain president said in a statement. “Marco is one of the most talented players of his generation. His presence in the squad shows the Club’s desire to prepare for the future and build one of the biggest club’s in Europe.”

Verratti, an Italian international, has made five PSG appearances already this season.
