Indiana is known for dominating the Big Ten, but it seems as though Penn State will challenge that reign this season.

SBI No. 11 Penn State is now 4-0-1 and atop the Big Ten conference table. Sophomore Mason Klerks scored his first collegiate goal to give the Nittany Lions the 1-0 win Saturday night vs. the Hoosiers. No. 8 Indiana had many more shot attempts, but only put two on frame. The Hoosiers are now 3-1-1.

Neither SBI No. 3 Georgetown nor No. 6 UC Irvine could find a game-winning goal, as they settled for a 1-1 draw Sunday afternoon. The Hoyas’ Brandon Allen scored in the 33rd minute, but the Anteaters’ Mats Bjurman scored the equalizer in the 73rd minute. The draw leaves the Hoyas with a 2-1-3 record and the Anteaters at 4-0-1.

SBI No. 1 UCLA seems to be having a tough time finding the net, as they drew 0-0 for the second time this weekend. After a lackluster weekend with scoreless draws against Santa Clara and Cal Poly, the Bruins’ record sits at 3-1-2.

Meanwhile, SBI No. 7 George Mason topped Hartwick to advance to 5-0 this season, No. 25 Delaware easily handled Saint Peter’s to advance to 6-0 and No. 18 American is 5-1, after beating Wisconsin-Milwaukee 3-0.

Louisville made a successful ACC debut by dominating Duke in a 5-0 rout. Virginia Tech transfer Ben Strong scored two goals for the Cardinals.

Comments

  1. Syracuse looked better most of the game and owned the ball in Notre dames third for the majority. Notre dames break came directly from a dangerous cuse cross they got across and led to a counter which put Skylar Thomas in a bad position. I wouldn’t move Syracuse down in any polls Becuz of the loss
