CHESTER, Pa.– The Philadelphia Union have a chance to win the first trophy in their club’s history, while the Seattle Sounders have a chance to add to their already-impressive trophy haul when the teams meet in tonight’s U.S. Open Cup Final (7:30pm, GolTV).

The Sounders have traveled to PPL Park in search of their forth U.S. Open Cup title in six seasons, and standing in their way is an in-form Union side thriving under the tutelage of interim head coach Jim Curtin.

SBI will be providing live commentary on today’s action, so please feel free to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

      • Well, it’s on Gol TV which only soccer dorks like me get and I was assuming the announcers were the typical Gol TV tyros, but now someone above is saying they are Philly announcers, but it just seems like a pretty poor production all the way around for a big final.

  1. Gigantic goal by Deuce in extra time to pretty much clinch it for Seattle and the color analyst sounds like he’s calling 5th place for the Middleview Junior High Science Fair: befuddled and uninterested. Now he’s mumbling to himself in the background like Rainman.

  2. Oh my God, did you see Yedlin blaze back to catch (I think it was) Maidana there on the solo break? It was like Maidana was standing still? He has got to be among the fastest soccer players I’ve ever seen.

    • id pay ($5) to see Gyau vs Yedlin in a foot race……

additionally, imagine Gyau at RW, Yedlin at RM and Fabian Johnson at RB…….. juicy. Throw in Drake Davis at ST…… juicier
