Premier League clubs Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Sunderland already feature American ownership ties, but it seems that England’s top league is drawing the interest of yet another stateside group.
U.S. investment firm Cain Hoy Enterprises released a statement Friday stating that the newly founded group has an interest in purchasing Tottenham, although their statement was released without the club’s consent.
“Cain Hoy confirms that it is at the preliminary stages of assessing a cash offer for Tottenham Hotspur,” the statement said. “Cain Hoy’s considerations are at an early stage, and there can be no certainty that any offer will ultimately be made or at what price any offer might be made.”
For their part, Tottenham have denied any takeover talk, as the club focuses on developing a new stadium.
“THFC confirms it is not in takeover discussions with Cain Hoy or any other party,” the club said in a statement. “As stated in yesterday’s announcement regarding the new stadium project, THFC has been in discussions with multiple providers of finance so that the optimum financing package for the project can be achieved and, in the course of those considerations, has met representatives of Cain Hoy. However, there are no ongoing discussions with Cain Hoy.”

MESSI, INIESTA, AND PIQUE SET TO FEATURE IN MATCHUP WITH ATHLETIC BILBAO
After seeing a trio of starters miss recent international action due to injury, Barcelona is set to be boosted by the return of some if its biggest names.
Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Gerard Pique are expected to feature Saturday against Athletic Bilbao after previously sitting out the international break due to injuries.
Messi, who missed Argentina’s victory over Germany with an abductor muscle problem, got the approval of manager Luis Enrique Friday.
“[Messi] is ready to play,” Enrique said. “He did some individual work, and more with the group. There are some [other] players who have still not got the medical all-clear, but the majority of the players are ready to play.”
Meanwhile, Pique is set to return from a hip injury, while fellow Spanish national team star Iniesta is coming back after missing Barca’s last game with a left knee injury.
KWESI APIAH, GHANA MUTUALLY PART WAYS
Just two months after being backed by the federation following a tumultuous World Cup, James Kwesi Appiah is out as Ghana manager.
The Ghanian Football Federation announced Friday that they had mutually parted ways with Kewsi Apiah, who had been in charge of the team since 2012.
“The two parties met on Friday morning to reach the agreement on the departure of Mr. Appiah,” the federation said in a statement. “The lawyers of the two parties will meet next week to decide on the severance package for Mr. Appiah based on the contract of his appointment.
“The GFA wishes to thank Mr Appiah for his diligent service to the country as the coach of the Black Stars for the past two years. We wish him every success for the future.”
Ghana were eliminated in the group stage of this summer’s World Cup as off-the-field issues mounted following the suspensions of Kevin Prince-Boateng and Sulley Muntari.
MANCHESTER UNITED’S JONES SET TO MISS ONE MONTH
With injuries already piling up, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is set to see another one of his players miss time.
Defender Phil Jones is set to miss a month due to a hamstring injury suffered in England’s 2-0 win over Switzerland over the international break.
Meanwhile, Ashley Young is also expected to be absent this weekend when Man United takes on Queens Park Rangers. The English winger picked up an injury in training this week, leaving van Gaal’s options limited.
“The situation has not improved much because while there are players coming back, there are also players who have got injured in the last week like, for example, Jones and Ashley Young,” van Gaal said. “So it’s more or less the same situation and that’s not a very positive one.”

Might help for a day or so. Handouts tend to be short lived fixes to problems. I would also wager that their charitable giving, as a % of total income, is larger than yours. None of which has anything to do with someone being a sociopath. You sound angry and might want to seek help. Maybe some rich investor will offer a handout to pay for it. You might also want to look deeper into the “spring” that you advocate. The one that is completely intolerant of opposing viewpoints. For example, one of your tirades might get you a death sentence under those people. Just remember, no matter how much America sucks (in your opinion), it allows you to be the A@@hole that you are today without fear of reprisal.

Probably would already be sold if the new owners could move the team out of LA.
are you trying to say that cain hoy is only investing in the epl because, gosh, the list for mls is just too long right now?
i thought the op’s question was valid, if a little simplistic–i’m sure there are many reasons why a company might want to invest in an epl team as opposed to an mls team.
