Chivas USA is inching toward oblivion as new reports Monday say a buyer has been found to take over the franchise, which will be re-branded. The team will cost an estimated $100 million. Chivas USA apparently may shut down for two years for rebuilding before returning to Major League Soccer as a new franchise.

Meanwhile, with the next World Cup a full four years away, Jurgen Klinsmann seems to be thinking outside the box as he rebuilds the team. Reports out Monday say Miguel Ibarra, a winger for Minnesota United in the North American Soccer League, will be called in for the U.S. Men’s National Team in October.

And it seems FIFA President Sepp Blatter was speaking out of turn when he claimed no one on FIFA’s Executive Committee wanted its new ethics probed released publicly. A member reportedly said that claim was false and members did want to release the results of an investigation into the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

Comments

  1. What name will the new Los Angeles 2 come up with? In reality there is no good name and MLS is really bad at naming MLS teams.
For example, San Jose could have been San Jose Bay Area united or San Jose athletics
Houston could have been Houston apollos or Houston aeros
Dallas could have been Dallas toros or Dfw united
    Columbus pioneers
Red bull should be cosmos or empire fc
Hopefully Miami is name inter Miami city
