It’s been a middling start to Real Madrid’s 2014-15 La Liga campaign, but the Spanish giants have a great opportunity to get back on track Tuesday against lower table squad Elche.
Real Madrid has come to regret selling off some of their midfield depth over the summer, but they should still be able to overpower Elche offensively as they did Deportivo La Coruña last weekend, when Cristiano Ronaldo netted a hat trick in an 8-2 thrashing.
There’s plenty of other compelling action today as well, with Arsenal hosting Southampton and Liverpool welcoming Middlesbrough to Anfield in League Cup action.
Elsewhere in Europe, Bayern Munich host a Bundesliga fixture against Paderborn. Both are involved in a four-way tie atop the table, and Tuesday’s match could provide at least a temporary league leader.
In Serie A action, AC Milan travels to Empoli in what should be a positive result for the Rossoneri.
Back in the United States, the Portland Timbers and Sporting Kansas City can both take control of their groups with a win in CONCACAF Champions League play.

Looking forward to any of these matches? If you’re watching, feel free to share some commentary and play-by-play below.
3 Alphas leave Jewsbury open in the box to score.
Had to mute the overly repetitive TA.
Toni Dovale. Wow. What a complete tool.
besler and epb starting
Every time I see Erik Palmer Brown play, he gets beat.
Oh, good goal KC.
last two times(houston &mls all star week) ive seen him play he was solid. not nothing special tho
He’s what, 16? Give the kid some time before you proclaim he’s “nothing special”.
i wasnt saying that. I was sayign he played solid in the only 2 outings i saw, and that he wasnt playing like the 2nd coming of Silva. Im a big fan. And he is 17 or 18.
I was just gonna make an arguement for why the u.s should adopt a formation/style where Altidore isn’t the starting the forward but no one will listen to me now lol.
If you’re curious
Guzan
Chandler Gonzalez Brooks Johnson
Diskerud Bradley Hyndmann
Gyau Johannson Green
Yes I know Johannson is injured I’m talking about the future
“the future” yet you leave out our best young defender in Yedlin…… silly…..
It sucks Sunderland lost. Less opportunities to play for Josmer.
How can I stream this? I have bein sports but my provider is not one of the providers that bein allows to use Beinconnect.
JOZY scores on saturday. PLEASE GOD
How’s Jozy look other than the goal?
he’s fouled a couple times, won a couple fouls, scored a goal on a one touch-turn-shoot, and has played moderately well, persay.
interesting moment. Nzonzi was grabbing Jozy, dribbled up field and was taken out by Rodwell (sticking up for his team mate). Nzonzi engages Rodwell forehead to forehead, Jozy comes flying in and shoves Nzonzi back 5 yards. i bet Nzonzi’s still angry about the redcard Jozy drew on him. haha Jozy 2 Nzonzi 0
side note: good to see rodwell sticking up for his new clubmates, those things build chem when you know your teamate has your back
correction: Jozy drew a second yellow (last man foul) that brought a red. for those who like to nitpick……
By the end of the game Jozy will be curing cancer on those that touch him
ref carded rodwell for tackle and nzonzi for afters, but nzonzi hit/chocked rodwell pretty blatantly after the tackle. Yellow probably fair, but red for the choke wouldn’t have been unreasonable.
yea, Nzonzi is a brat, you can’t choke a player,
Rodwell with the most awful tackle you’ll see this week.
tru but it was only because Nzonzi was holding Jozy around his neck to get the ball. sticking up for his teammates, yet still a wreckless challenge. ive seen wayyyyy worse…. but you did say “this week” so it probably holds true
JOZZZZYYYYY
Good for Jozy!!!!!! He needed that so badly! How has he looked otherwise?
JOZY SCORED A GOAL
So Andrew Wooten for USMNT?
mannone would’ve stopped that goal, lol. darn you, pantimillioliloilioiloin

thanks.
funny, this is the one time i *wouldn’t* have been screaming for him to “JUST SHOOT THE BALL”. think there were 3 teammates wide open on goal when he shot it. whatever, they’re not going to complain about it.
Good thing he didn’t pass. They would have missed and Jozy wouldn’t have received a return pass.
haha so true
sweet baby jesus, altidore with a nice goal.
niiice!
can’t wait for the haters to say “it was only in a cup game, not the actual league”…….. yet it was against fellow EPL team Stoke……. good goal jozy
I’m sure they will clam it as a lazy goal.
Completely lazy. He fell over trying to take a nap but got lucky.
Chandler also starting.
and EH starting for Fulham.
lol wow and Wooten with another winner.
Wow, what a goal for Okazaki against Eintract….glad to see it wasn’t Chandler who was beat on that. I have no idea how Okazaki has bounced around the German league, his passion and style has to be valued and I would think he is a fan favorite everywhere he has played. The first goal for Mainz you could partially blame Chandler (mostly the CB though), however I thought the forward was offside…..
Chicharito starting for Real Madrid.
no he isn’t.
Altidore getting the start against Stoke in the Capital One cup
Andrew Wooten with a 90th minute winner against 1860 Munich today. 3rd goal this season.
third winning goal he scored in a row!
