Jozy Altidore’s scoring slump in Sunderland finally ceased on Tuesday. The USMNT striker snapped a 10-month scoring drought, scoring the only goal for his Premier League club in a loss to Stoke City.
Meanwhile, USWNT goalkeeper Hope Solo spoke with SBI’s Caitlin Murray about staying focused on soccer amid off-field legal distractions and warned against the public making assumptions about her situation. They were Solo’s first comments touching on her June arrest since she issued a statement the days after being charged.
And the Philadelphia Union have apparently seen enough from coach Jim Curtain. A report from Ives Galarcep indicated Curtain will become the permanent head coach of the club, dropping the interim tag and signing a contract.
