After missing the start of the 2. Bundesliga season due to injury, Terrence Boyd is returning to training right on schedule.

Boyd missed the first nine games of the 2. Bundesliga season after suffering a partially torn right ACL back in July, but now is set to return from that injury, which did not require surgery. RB Leipzig revealed Tuesday the news on their official Twitter account that the 23-year-old forward was finally set to return to training.

RB Leipzig currently sit in fourth place of the 2. Bundesliga after having amassed a 4-4-1 record through the season’s opening nine games. The club’s next game is set for Oct. 17, after the international break, in a matchup with Nurnberg which could serve as Boyd’s league debut.

Boyd joined RB Leipzig in June and scored a pair of goals in the two preseason friendlies for the club, including one against French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain. Prior to the move, Boyd scored 28 goals in 59 appearances for Austrian side Rapid Wien.

How do you think Boyd will perform this season? When do you expect the forward to resurface for the national team?

  1. great to hear. i hope he trains well but takes his time so he is absolutely 100% before jumping back into games. and even then, i’d like him to ease his way into games. there is no reason to rush.

    • No need to push until Mar/April! If he is rounding into his best form then surely he will get a call to the GC ’15
