LegenD: Becoming a leader

Comments

  1. Yeah. I don’t really think of Donovan as a natural leader in any sense other than his ability on the pitch, but it seems like he worked hard to become on to a certain extent in the locker room.

  2. Hmmmm, this piece seems a bit of a stretch, I don’t think LD willingly gave up the arm band nor do I think LD was a great “leader” , great player no doubt, but I think his leadership skill left a little to be desired.

    • I agree. But like the video says, he wasn’t born to be leader. It was something he truly had to work at. For him, it was all about what he did on the field with the ball at his feet.

  3. Let’s not forget, leaders don’t point to their name on the back of their jersey when they score a goal for their team. Just sayin’.

    • would you call michael jordan a leader? if so, it’s most likely attributed to his ability to lead on the court (as LD has done). Jordan wasnt kind to rookie or anything, he didnt invite them over for tea and crumpets…….. he actually was a (publicly known) A-hole away from the public’s eye. he constantly trash talked, to players and fans on sidelines both (blind free throw ring a bell?). the point is, in-the-moment celebrating has little to do with being a leader or not.

      …. Just Sayin……………….
