Liga MX Round 13: A Look Ahead

Club America have yet another difficult task ahead of them as they come into Liga MX Round 13 off their worst performance of the season.

Las Aguilas were thoroughly beaten in a 4-0 drubbing by crosstown rival Cruz Azul, and with a week-long break to let that defeat stew in the players minds, they’ll be ready to hit the field again on Saturday. Unfortunately for them, they’re hitting a hot Monterrey squad that’s won seven games this season and sits in third place, just three points behind first-place America.

Humberto Suazo is fit once more, and along with league-leading scorer Dorlan Pabon, will provide a strong test for America’s defensive line, including Paulo Goltz and Paul Aguilar.

Elsewhere in Liga MX action this weekend, Herculez Gomez, Jose Torres and fifth-place Tigres UANL host Cruz Azul in an important midseason battle, Ronaldinho and Queretaro visit Greg Garza, Joe Corona, and Club Tijuana, and defending champions Club Leon host Chivas de Guadalajara.
