A pair of SBI Top 25 teams were upset Tuesday, as Michigan stunned No. 6 Notre Dame late and No. 25 Virginia topped No. 4 George Mason.

Tuesday’s biggest match did not feature an upset win, as No. 7 Indiana traveled to Louisville, KY and pounded the No. 24 Cardinals, 3-0.

Grant Lillard provided the lone goal of the first half for the Hoosiers, while Jamie Vollmer — who assisted the first goal — and Andrew Oliver added two more in the second half to improve the Hoosiers record to 7-1-3. Louisville have lost three consecutive matches, and there schedule does not become easier, as they travel to South Bend to play Notre Dame Friday.

However, Notre Dame is in a slump as well, as they lost their second consecutive match Tuesday against Michigan. Colin McAtee scored a hat trick to give the Wolverines the 3-2 upset win. His third came in the 83rd minute, and his goal drops the Fighting Irish’s record to 5-3-2 this season.

No. 25 Virginia have won three in a row after handing No. 4 George Mason a 1-0 defeat Tuesday evening in front of 3,003 fans. Since beginning the year with seven wins and two draws, the Patriots have suffered two consecutive defeats.

Eric Bird scored the lone goal in the second half to improve the Cavaliers’ record to 7-3-1, while the Patriots drop to 7-2-2 this season.

Syracuse allowed their second goal of the year, but the Orange’s Alex Halis scored the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute to give them the 2-1 win over Albany.

Jordan Murrell scored the first goal of the match for the Orange in the 33rd minute, but the Great Danes’ Afonso Pinheiro scored in the 56th minute. The Orange are now 10-1 this season, which is their best start in program history.
