Two games in particular stand out in the final weekend of regular season NASL play as both the Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Carolina RailHawks have a chance of garnering the fourth and final postseason spot.

The Strikers have the easier job, taking on expansion side Ottawa Fury FC at home Saturday night in a game that they will likely just need a point in to secure a first-round match against No. 1 seeded Minnesota United.

Fort Lauderdale comes into the game unbeaten in their last five matches, while Ottawa has dropped three straight after a promising mid-season run of form.

With a win, the Strikers will secure their first playoff spot since 2012, but with a tie they could still get in with a RailHawks loss or a win that doesn’t make up a goal differential of four.

Here’s a look at the rest of the upcoming NASL action:

RAILHAWKS HOST MINNESOTA UNITED IN POSSIBLE PLAYOFF PREVIEW

With a win and help from other results, the RailHawks match against Minnesota United could prove to be a preview of the first round of the playoffs as the Loons have guaranteed the No. 1 overall seed.

Though United won the spring season, they need a win to also finish first in the fall season, as second-place San Antonio is just two points behind.

A Carolina win and Fort Lauderdale loss will be enough to see the RailHawks through to a playoff game near the Twin Cities.

INDY ELEVEN LOOK TO CONTINUE STRONG FORM IN FLORIDA

Winners of three straight, expansion Indy Eleven is in the best form of its young history. The Midwestern side travels to St. Petersburg this weekend to take on the team that is possibly in the biggest slump in all of the NASL: the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

With just one point in their last five games, the Rowdies will look to end a once-promising season on a strong note, and possibly save head coach Ricky Hill’s job.

SCORPIONS HOST COSMOS AHEAD OF PLAYOFF MATCHUP

While the San Antonio Scorpions and New York Cosmos have secured the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds, respectively, their Saturday match-up will prove a first-round playoff preview as New York will again travel to south Texas next week to decide which team will go to the 2014 Soccer Bowl.

While the game will surely be well-contested, it is likely that both teams will use weakened sides in order to rest key players, though with a win, the Scorpions could take the Fall Championship.

EDMONTON HOST REELIN SILVERBACKS

While the only Sunday match of the weekend will have no impact on the postseason, both teams are able to jump spots in the table with a win in Edmonton.

For Atlanta, whose future has been called into question after early strong support for the city’s yet-to-be named MLS side, a good result could help get a side, who have suffered through more turmoil than any other side in the NASL, out of the gutter of the league.
