SBI Friday Rewind: Strong U-23 men’s roster named; Kaka returns to Brazil national team; and more

Cody Cropper

With an October friendly in Brazil, the U-23 men’s roster was named Friday, with a strong batch of players. The roster includes Stanford’s Jordan Morris, Southhamptom’s Cody Cropper and Utrecht’s Rubio Rubin, all who U.S. Men’s National Team coach Jurgen Klinsmann had called up to the senior team last month. Also, it’s a first U-23 call-up for 16-year-old defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, who is currently with the Tottenham academy.

Meanwhile, Brazil has called in Kaka for their senior Brazil squad for the first time since March 2013. Kaka, who will make his Major League Soccer debut next year with Orlando City SC, was left off the World Cup squad this past summer, but has been called in by new manager Dunga a pair a friendlies in Asia this month.
