The international break truly kicks off Thursday as a series of Euro 2016 qualifiers headline the day’s action.
Thursday’s proceedings feature nine European qualifiers, including a matchup between defending European champions Spain and Slovakia.
Spain head into Slovakia on the heels of a 5-1 thrashing of Macedonia to open qualifying last month. Boasting a lineup featuring Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas, Andres Iniesta and David Silva, Spain are taking their post-World Cup resurgence very seriously against a Slovakian side that includes Napoli’s Martin Hamsik and Liverpool’s Martin Skrtel.
Meanwhile, England are also back in action, as the Three Lions take on minnows San Marino. England features a squad made up of many of the usual suspects including Wayne Rooney, Gary Cahill and Leighton Baines. Anything but a lopsided victory would prove to be a disappointment for England against a team that has won just one game in their history.
In other action, an injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Sweden host Russia, Switzerland visits Slovenia and Mexico takes on Honduras in a friendly.

Mexico v. Honduras is like an MLS game: no rythm, poor passing and poor first touches.
This is why our best players should be playing in Europe not MLS.
