Geoff Cameron is set to become the latest U.S. Men’s National Team’s star to try his hand in the field of broadcasting.

NBC announced Monday that Cameron will join veteran broadcaster Arlo White in the booth for the Nov. 23 meeting between Crystal Palace and Liverpool in a matchup that will serve as the Stoke City defender’s on-air debut.

The broadcast will come just one day after Cameron, who is currently in Dublin with the USMNT, Stoke City for a meeting with Burnley.

Cameron is the latest active U.S. star to make a move to the booth, as the defender joins Everton’s Tim Howard, who signed a multiyear deal with NBC in July.

What do you think of Cameron’s move into broadcasting? Excited to see another U.S. star in the booth?

  1. Great to see the success Geoff is having on the pitch and off. Being a Dynamo fan I have watched him from day one. He is super talented and versatile. We have yet to see his best work IMO. The question has always been ,what is his best position? For me he is best as a holding mid with the chance to get forward in the attack. Best of luck Geoff. You will always be FOREVER ORANGE to me.

    • Switch to 3 ATB…….. possession would soon come…especially if Cameron is at RCB, Jones at CCB, and Besler at LCB…….then you put Yedlin/Johnson at RM/RWB and Johnson/Garza LM/LWB……fill in the middle with a CDM (gotta find one-TCHANI?) and Bradley sitting in front of the CB’s…….put your two best AM’s unbalanced if need be and the striker up top. This change would also open everything up in terms of depth chart. Maybe Altidore loses his spot. Maybe Dempsey, Maybe Bradley.

I really think with what we have, that a 3 CB formation is the more logical way to move forward. It allows you to have adequate defensive coverage (especially once practiced) and allows Yedlin/Johnson/Garza more lee way to get forward. Then you also have a striker that doesnt have to be a back to goal, strong guy but the best player to score goals….whomever that is going forward.

  2. Nothing wrong with earning a little supplemental income! On a serious note, Howard has been surprising insightful and articulate in color commentary. It’s come off quite naturally. Hopefully, Geoff can follow suite.
