Manchester City’s UEFA Champions League hopes are on the line heading into match day five. The only problem is their opponent on Tuesday evening is German powerhouse Bayern Munich.

Even without Philipp Lahm in the lineup after suffering a broken ankle last week, Bayern throttled Hoffenheim, 4-0, last Saturday, and look set to spoil Man City’s European chances at the Etihad Stadium. Both teams will be missing many stars for the match but with Bayern having already clinched a place in the knockout round, they have less pressure on them.

Man City on the other hand desperately need a win to keep their hopes alive and try to advance to the Round of 16 for the second consecutive year, despite earning two points from four games.

Group F leading Paris Saint-Germain host Dutch champions Ajax to the Parc des Princes, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic reportedly back to full fitness. PSG are hoping to keep pace ahead of second-place Barcelona, who visit APOEL. Elsewhere, Chelsea visit former manager Roberto Di Matteo and Schalke 04, Atletico Madrid visit Shakhtar Donetsk, and AS Roma visit CSKA Moscow.

      • With the game being on U.S. national television and with Banern’s (and The Bundesliga’s) desire to make a big move in the American market I do believe that Bayern will care today.
