Soccer Wednesday: Your Running Commentary

It’s hard to believe it was only two weeks ago that Bayern Munich put an absolute beating on AS Roma in the UEFA Champions League.

Now the two teams renew their rivalry at Allianz Arena, with Bayern riding an undefeated start to the season in all competitions. Franck Ribery starts his first Champions League game of the season alongside Mario Götze and Roberto Lewandowski up top. Arjen Robben has been given the match off. Also missing out on the return match is Roma’s Francesco Totti and Miralem Pjanic, though Daniele De Rossi returns to the starting lineup.

Elsewhere in UCL action, Manchester City host CSKA Moscow with qualification to the knockout stages on the line, Paris Saint-Germain hosting APOEL, Barcelona travel to Ajax, and Chelsea visit Slovenian club Maribor.

In the evening, there’s plenty of action in South America, with Copa do Brazil matches and a pair of Copa Sudamericana quarterfinal matchups.

If you will be watching today’s action, please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below.
