In what was otherwise a sloppy U.S. Men’s National Team performance, Alejandro Bedoya remained consistent.

The midfielder was a bright spot for the U.S. on a generally dreary afternoon, as Bedoya proved to be one of the team’s more capable options on the attacking side. Bedoya’s overall stability and confidence in attack were enough to earn the Nantes midfielder recognition as SBI USMNT Man of the Match.

Bedoya proved time and time again to be the USMNT’s most capable and creative attacker, as the 27-year-old tended to spark the team’s best chances. Highlighted by a ball to Altidore that saw the striker smash the crossbar, Bedoya proved to be a major part of nearly each and every U.S. opportunity with the team’s best chances coming when the ball was worked out wide.

Bedoya beat out Mix Diskerud and Jozy Altidore for today’s honors.

  1. Boy, his face says it all. Rough outing for the boys, but very important lessons learned. It will pay off down the line not only for the youngsters but the coaching staff as well.

    • If I didn’t know better, I’d say this photo is actually from Natal vs. Ghana. Still, pretty much tells the story.

  2. great game for him. keep playing like that and he will continue to be a starter for the Gold Cup.

always thought he was a steady player who contributed both ways but I never thought of him as a spark or creator in the offence. Certainly looked like that today.

just no more short corners over and over again…
