The U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team wrapped up their final two friendly matches before World Cup qualifying with a sweep of Honduras on the road.
In the finale on Sunday afternoon, the U.S. defeated Honduras, 2-1, following up a 2-1 victory on Thursday in the first of the two friendly matches in San Pedro Sula.
Romain Gall scored for the second match in a row, and his first-half strike was followed up by a goal from Lynden Gooch. Devron Garcia scored the lone goal for the Honduras U-20s in the defeat.
Head coach Tab Ramos will now organize a domestic-based training camp with the U-20 squad before heading to Jamaica early in 2015 ahead of the CONCACAF U-20 Championships. Ramos will have to select his 20-man squad by Dec. 30.
Here’s a look at the U.S. lineup from the 2-1 victory:
USA: Zack Steffen; Shaquell Moore (John Requejo, 52), Conor Donovan, Matt Miazga, Tyler Turner (Luis Martir, 71); Kellyn Acosta (capt.), Lynden Gooch (Amando Moreno, 71), Tommy Thompson (Chase Gasper, 88); Paul Arriola, Bradford Jamieson IV (Russell Canouse, 46), Romain Gall (Fernando Arce, 76)
Subs Not Used: Jeff Caldwell, Joel Sonora
Head Coach: Tab Ramos

Gall has over a goal per game in his U-20 career thus far. Not too shabby at all.
Romain Gall, my guy.
With Sunderland strikers unable to score regularly, what are the chances that Gooch gets some playing time before the end of the year? Seems like his rise through the youth system there has been very steady, maybe give him a shot after the new year with the FA cup match?
“year” for this purpose should be read as “season”
two tough road wins is impressive. hope springs eternal…
