Liverpool’s return to the UEFA Champions League could be over on Tuesday if they don’t manage a victory on home soil.
The Reds take on FC Basel at Anfield, knowing that a victory will vault them past the Swiss club into second place, earning a place in the knockout stages of the competition. Brendan Rodgers side have endured a frustrating start to the season, but a victory tonight could give them the confidence they need moving into the busy holiday fixture period.
Group A leaders Atletico Madrid travel to Northern Italy to face Juventus in a key game for the Italians. Atleti will move on as group winners as long as they don’t lose by two-or-more goals but Juventus still need a win or a draw, as a defeat coupled with an Olympiacos victory could leave Juventus out of the knockout rounds for the second year in a row.
Arsenal are set to debut a young lineup with qualification to the next stage already ensured, though they still trail Borussia Dortmund by only two points and are still in position to win Group D, depending on how Sacha Kljestan and Anderlecht perform.
More than 2,500 fans from Bulgaria have traveled to see Ludogorets play Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, AS Monaco host FC Zenit, and Bayer Leverkusen travel to Lisbon to face Benfica.

Anyone else find it ridiculous that Fox Sports is choosing to broadcast a meaningless Real Madrid game as well as the two EPL sides rather than the key game of the day…Juve v. Atletico?
I am thinking of trying to get the Spanish package approved by my wife, because my son is learning to speak it in school for that very reason. Many times Univision and ESPN Dep. are where you want to be.
do it. with AT&T it’s so cheap and you like double the number of games available to watch. it’s fantastic.
it seems ESPN has the rights to that game, not Fox.
