Manchester United had 25 minutes to take advantage of a questionable Gabriel Agonlahor red card, but Aston Villa still found a way to halt the Red Devils’ six-match winning streak.
Colombian striker Radamel Falcao’s second-half equalizer canceled out a beautiful Christian Benteke opener in a 1-1 draw at Villa Park. The Agbonlahor red card looked like it might give the visitors a chance for a late winner, but it was Aston Villa that created the dangerous chances late in the match.
In Italy, Roma and AC Milan played out a disappointing 0-0 draw, while PSG failed to capitalize in a 0-0 draw against Montpellier in France.
Here a look at all of all Saturday’s results from Europe’s top leagues:

GERMAN BUNDESLIGA
Borussia Dortmund will spend the holiday break in the relegation zone.
Fellow strugglers Werder Bremen came out on top in a relegation six-pointer, 2-1. Dortmund’s 10th loss of the season leaves Jurgen Klopp’s side on a run of four games without a win and in 17th in the Bundesliga. It was Bremen’s first win since the end of November.

Their only consolation came when Mats Hummels headed in Ilkay Gundogan’s corner kick in the 69th minute.
Eintracht Frankfurt failed to gain ground on the top four when Karim Bellarabi equalized for Bayer Leverkusen in a 1-1 draw. Frankfurt had taken the lead through Bundesliga leading scorer Alexander Meier’s converted penalty in the 36th minute.
Wolfsburg did all they could to chase down league leaders Bayern Munich with a 2-1 win over Koln. They still enter the break in second, 11 points off of Bayern.

ITALIAN SERIE A
Just as AS Roma’s challenge for the top in Italy ramped up, it calmed down in disappointing fashion.
AC Milan clung on to a 0-0 draw against the Romans, despite heaps of pressure late after they went a man-down. Pablo Armero was handed a second yellow for handling the ball, but Roma couldn’t turn the man-advantage into anything worthwhile.
Roma put five shots on Diego Lopez’s goal, but the Spaniard held firm for a result that keeps Milan within earshot of a European spot. Roma must deal with a three point gap when the teams return for action in January.
A late Ze Eduardo strike handed Cesena a 1-1 result at Sassuolo. The home team took the lead through Simone Zaza’s 76th minute penalty, but couldn’t find any more despitee 14 opportunities.

Monaco won their sixth consecutive game with a 1-0 result over relegation-threatened Metz. Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco provided the difference maker in the 79th minute to take Monaco up to fifth.
