Marco Reus is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, but the Borussia Dortmund winger is still generating plenty of headlines regarding his potential transfer status.
The 25-year-old winger has recently been linked with Real Madrid, with reports going so far as to say that the Spanish club have an agreement in place for an option to buy. However, Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke says that there is no such agreement in place and that Reus can go to whatever team meets his $31 million opt out clause.
“This is complete nonsense that there is an option right agreement,” Watzke said. “Marco alone will decide where he will go. If he decides to make use of the clause there is nothing we can do.”
Reus, who missed out on the World Cup due to injury, is set to be out until 2015 with an ankle ligament injury.
Here are some more news and notes to kickoff your Wednesday morning:
MOURINHO WILL RISK UNBEATEN RUN TO CHASE VICTORIES
Jose Mourinho is far from concerned with matching the achievements of Arsenal’s Invincibles.
Undefeated through 20 games, many have compared Chelsea’s current incarnation with the great unbeaten Gunners side of 2003-04, but Mourinho insists that the Blues will not sacrifice the will to win to maintain an unbeaten mark.
“One thing is that I don’t think it’s possible [to complete a season unbeaten]. The other thing is that we are not playing for that,” Mourinho said. “If [against Spurs Wednesday] we have a 0-0 with 20 minutes to go, we are not going to play for the 0-0 to be undefeated after 21 matches. No way. If you play for that, if that is one objective, maybe you draw so many matches, you don’t take risks to try and win matches. You are happy just to be undefeated.
“If you get 10 draws, you get 10 points. If you win five and lose five, you make 15 points. We are going to play matches to win. And, sometimes, we will lose. I’d prefer 15 points and lost matches than 10 points and being undefeated.”
VIDAL, BONUCCI HAPPY AT JUVENTUS
Both Arturo Vidal and Leonardo Bonucci have long been linked away with a move from Serie A, but the two Juventus stars have admitted that they are happy to remain with their current club.
Vidal has drawn interests from clubs including Manchester United, while Bonucci has caught the eye of Bayern Munich in recent weeks, leading to speculation regarding the pair’s future with Juve. Despite the rumors, both players insist they are happy to be a part of Juve’s quest for a fourth title.
“I’m happy at Juventus because I feel at home here,” Vidal said. “I’ve grown a great deal since I arrived at Juve.
“It was all under control,” the 27-year-old added regarding his slow start to the season. “We knew that I would have continued to have complaints for two or three months after the operation — the surgeon who operated on me told me this. I started a little later this year because of a few problems with my knee, but now I’m back. Now the good part is starting — the difficult games, in the Champions League. We hope to be up to the challenge.”
Bonucci, who has played every minute for Juve this season, also reiterated his happiness with the club on his personal blog.
“[There have been] a lot of words written about my situation. I feel good with Juventus,” Bonucci said. “I think only about my performances on the pitch and winning in these colors. I don’t think about renewal. Those who have represented me in the last few years, like my agent, did it seriously and professionally.
“I feel good with Juventus.”

we have no need for Reus as awesome as he is. Jese just got back and he should be the focus.
Emile Heskey still plays?
