More than just pride is on the line in Sunday’s Derby della Capitale, although that alone is usually enough.

AS Roma are locked in a battle for the top spot in Serie A with Juventus, while Lazio have to fend off challengers to their UEFA Champions League spot when the two clash this weekend. The bitter rivals are dead-even in the last 10 meetings, both with four wins. Lazio haven’t claimed victory over Roma in three meetings.

Later that day Juventus will either look to widen the gap or keep pace at the top with a tricky trip to fourth-placed Napoli.

In Spain, Atletico Madrid will look to seal another crucial win when they take on Barcelona. Atletico recorded a big 2-0 win over city rivals and league leaders Real Madrid on Wednesday to come within a point of the top.

In the English Premier League, fourth-place Southampton look to take an advantage in the race for a Champions League spot on a trip to Old Trafford to face third-place Manchester United. Title-contenders Manchester City visit Everton on Saturday.

Finally, Morelia and Toluca lock horns on Friday night to kick-start the return of Liga MX.

  1. I guess the forgot to add the U-20 CONCACAF qualifying tornament starting today. I know Fox Sports is showing the US U-20 team games……what about that of Canada, I’d like to see them play, is there any streaming of their games too?

    • Actually, it’s against Panama, but the rest of the info is correct, I think. Definitely on Fox Sports 2 at 5:30 according to US Soccer, but Univision isn’t mentioned. Panama may be the toughest team in the group, though they may try to play head to head against us instead of parking the bus like Guatemala did. That may help us.
