Gabriel Farfan scored his first goal since moving south of the border in a 3-2 win for Chiapas in Copa MX play on Wednesday.

Chiapas beat Club Zacatepec on the road after falling down 2-0 in the first half. Christian Bermudez got one back for Chiapas two minutes after halftime before Farfan scored the equalizer in the 81st minute. Chiapas’ Adrian Marin supplied the winning goal in the 84th minute.

With the victory, Chiapas moves into third in their group and will need victories over Pumas in the team’s final two group stage matches to advance to the knockout stages.

Farfan, who played for the Philadelphia Union and the now defunct Chivas USA, is in his first permanent stint with Chiapas after initially joining them on loan.

Farfan scored one goal and had four assists from 57 appearances with the Union. He did not make it into Chiapas’ squad in a 5-0 loss to Club America last weekend and will now try to break into the team for the match against Tigres on Saturday.

What do you think of Farfan’s goal? Does Chiapias have any chance of advancing?
