I was at the game against PSG where he score that stunner from 30 yards out. It was an incredible goal. However, the highlight for me was also seeing Zlatan reply with two great goals of his own. There may as well be a spotlight on Zlatan when PSG plays at home. It seemed that every pass he made was a no look flick and everything he does gets a response from the crowd. Incredibly entertaining.
this is how it should be done–climb the ladder starting at the bottom and climb slowly, rung by rung. If more of our young US players aspiring to play in Europe could follow a path like this, not only would we see more players succeeding overseas, we’d have a much more realistic expectation for “where we are” among the world’s best.
are you saying that currently the US youth players go to Europe thinking they’d be at the top of the ladder?…. The only shortcut to a top club is immense talent, since we don’t have that yet our players certainly go over there to “climb the ladder”. What other path could they choose?…your statement is simply stating the obvious, like a synopsis.
What I like about Bedoya is that he seems to be a testament for hard work. When you watch him play it looks like he is always giving it his all. Hoping much more success for him.
I agree. Bedoya has quietly worked his tail off and proven himself at a very high level. He seems to have recently reached a new level within the USMNT pool and I’m happy for him. I hope he continues on this path…..we need him!
i saw an article about it when it happened. I think it was right after the WC. his teammates spoke highly of him and if i remember they were the ones excited to do the cheer with “the American” on the club. a few years ago he was considering leaving, glad he stayed, seems to be a good situation all around there. he’s not their star but he’s a great role player and I’ve noticed he’s been steadily improving all around.
