Just one week after their senior counterparts produced another Dos a Cero performance against Mexico, the U.S. Under 23 Men’s National Team gets a chance to replicate the feat against their El Tri counterparts.

The U.S. U-23’s take on Mexico Wednesday night at StubHub Center (11pm, UniMas) for the Americans’ first home game of 2015 in a matchup that serves as a precursor to October’s Olympic qualifying.

Leading the line for the U.S. will be Jordan Morris, who scored his first international goal for the senior team last week. Joining Morris are four other goalscorers from the team’s most recent game with Bosnia: Fatai Alashe, Mario Rodriguez, Benji Joya and Alonso Hernandez. In addition, the roster features LA Galaxy forward Jose Villarreal, who has made four starts and scored a goal for the reigning champions this season.

Joining Alashe in the center of the park is Real Salt Lake midfielder and U-23 captain Luis Gil,, who assisted on three of the five tallies last time out. The duo is joined by New York Red Bulls product Dan Metzger as well as the Mexican-based Joya and Alejandro Guido.

Defensively, the U.S. features Colorado Rapids regulars Shane O’Neill and Dillon Serna, both of whom have earned looks at the senior level, while Southampton’s Cody Cropper is expected to patrol the net.

In Mexico, the U.S. faces a roster loaded with Liga MX talent, with 14 of the 20 players plying their trade in the domestic league. Like Morris, forward Marco Bueno is expected to feature just one week removed from appearing in the senior matchup, which he entered in the 83rd minute.

Tigres forward Uvaldo Luna Martinez also provides a familiar face, as the Texas-born midfielder previously spent time as a member of the U.S. Under-20’s.

The matchup presents the first face-off between the two nations on the U-23 level since February of 2012, when U.S. claim a 2-0 win behind goals from Juan Agudelo and Mix Diskerud, while Bill Hamid posted a clean sheet.

The meeting between the two sides serves as a build-up to CONCACAF Olympic qualifying, which will take place between October 1-13.
