can somebody translate the french? That turf was horrible. Put in real grass. However, the atmosphere in the stadium looked very south american for just 16k fans. Please get rid of that fence that lines the field. It looks so 3rd world, as if its presence is staving off a riot or field intrusion. Costa rica seems to have had the appropriate amount of security, and costa ricans take much more civic pride in their country then perhaps surrounding countries. They don’t need to continue with that whole dilapidated stadium in a slum look.
Did you see the match? The field was covered in people throwing trash after Montreal’s second goal. Busch got hit with something. People were throwing shoes on the field.
They used to try to do grass fields there. There’s a reason why they’ve moved to artificial turf…and, yes, it’s terrible. Like playing on concrete. It is what it is.

Probably closer to 19k, but yes, they’re incredibly passionate there. That’s part of the atmosphere that has kept the USA from winning there…..ever.

Exactly. Staving off a field intrusion. Nailed it. These are people who try to keep opposing teams up all night by making noise inside and outside the hotel….who scream at the bus…who throw things at visiting players. Fence? Probably better than no fence,
It’s not often that you can give up 4 goals in a game and still ‘win.” Would have liked to have seen the players commenting on the game after it was over.
One thing I saw in this game that I also saw in a Championship game on Monday with Nottingham Forest, teams with the lead who bunker down and give give the attacking team such free rein are like football teams that go into a “prevent defense.” As often as not it prevents you from winning. In these two soccer games, the defenders didn’t even pick up the attacking team until they were almost to the top of the penalty box. I really think you need to have your midfielders play higher and contest the ball closer to the center circle instead of packing them way back.
Allez Allez Montreal! Im looking forward to watching this team make history 🙂

You don’t know much about Costa Rica, do you?

This is one Galaxy fan that is really pulling for Montrea. The games have been super exiciting and of course I want to see a MLS team do well.
well done Montreal!
if this team wins the CCL and doesn’t win a game in the league they should still be the MLS team of the year!

Well done. Fun to watch.
