After seeing his side nearly concede an early goal in the fourth minute, Lamar Neagle took control to lead the Seattle Sounders to victory.

Neagle hit out on the ensuing counter attack to score the first of his two goals, leading the Sounders to a 3-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids while earning recognition as SBI MLS Player of the Week.

Just moments after Dillon Powers smashed a shot off the Sounders’ post, Neagle led the charge the other way, curling a shot from the top left corner of the box to send an early statement. That statement was furthered upon in the 25th minute with a finish in a scramble, pushing the Sounders back into the lead after conceding an equalizer moments prior.

Neagle’s ability to push the Sounders to advantage on two separate occasions was enough to earn the midfielder honors as SBI MLS Player of the Week, bearing out Fabian, Castillo, Federico Higuain, Teal Bunbury and Sebastian Giovinco for this week’s award.

What did you think of Neagle’s performance? Which player impressed you most in this past weekend’s action?

  1. Fabian Castillo v TFC. 2 goals, the first one within 30 seconds, the second a beautiful curler to sneak into the far post by inches.

  2. Lamar Neagle and Teal Bunbury are playing really good soccer right now. Neagle was dangerous all night and Teal came in as a sub and impacted the game immediately with an assist and a goal…..awesome
