The Chicago Fire youngster demonstrated his ability in the center of the field with a fine display against the attacking talents of Toronto FC, further cementing his place in Frank Yallop’s starting midfield selection.
Polster slotted into center midfield and was effective in sweeping up breaking balls and stifling the midfield runs from the opposition. He rarely lost possession of the ball and made some key interceptions for his side.
The 21-year-old proved that he can hold his own, and then some, in a midfield packed with quality from both sides and helped his side record back-to-back home victories with an impressive 3-2 win over the Canadian outfit, thus earning him the SBI Rookie of the Week award.
Polster pipped San Jose Earthquakes’ Fatai Alashe for this week’s accolade.

I guess you can’t give it to Fatai Alashe every week? He was the Earthquakes’ best player on the weekend. Again..
A dark horse no longer. Just needs to stay on the field in what’s becoming a very crowded midfield.
ROTY dark horse?
