While the Minnesota United FC attack is beginning to roll, defending champion San Antonio Scorpions earned their first point of the season away from home in a 2-2 draw.

Things did not look good early for United when Zourab Tsiskaridke made all 9,233 fans’ jaws drop at NSC Stadium. The Scorpions midfielder sent a drive from almost 60-yards out into the back of the net, sending the away side into a frenzy.

Three games in, Pablo Campos claimed the first goal of the season for Minnesota United, but credit is due to U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder Miguel Ibarra, who was cool and collected with the ball before sending a wonderful cross into the box in the 34th minute.

The Loons attack looked back to their former self, as Christian RamirezĀ had a good dribble and attempt at goal in the 35th minute. He tallied his first of the year in the second half.

RamirezĀ and the Loons would claim the third goal of the affair after midfielder Jonny Steele went down in the penalty box in the second half.

The questionable call would give the Loons the lead, but not for long. Rafael Castillo banged home a penalty in stoppage time, preventing either side from earning their first Spring Season win.

The Scorpions will head to Florida to play Jacksonville Armada FC next Saturday, and Minnesota United will go up north to see FC Edmonton on Sunday.
