I agree with the closing down issues and fatigue, but BF managed to strike under the light hop of the defender and just inside the post. Not a high percentage shot.
Not taking anything away from this strike because it’s a fantastic hit but how is it possible for anybody to have that much time to setup and strike the ball in a professional league? Why did no one close him down?
In their defense, they were playing down a man. Tough angle too, so not exactly some sitter that they gave up.
Bounced twice and was coming down for a third – with five defenders in the box and several just outside. I’m with Brian. Great strike but he shouldn’t have had that space. I don’t think the man down thing was a factor. That was game fatigue – easier to keep falling back like they all were when the cross came into Zusi than to change direction and close on Benny. If they had, he would have had to rush, couldn’t have waited for that perfect ball placement.
those jazz hands tho…
You gotta be kidding me with that blast! Too much power!
BENNY AND HIS JETS!! YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I knew someone was going to mention that goal, but I’m impressed by the reference to the FSC call.
