The Colorado Rapids have had some difficulties finding the net in 2015, but they added another weapon to their arsenal after announcing the signing of Luis Solignac Friday.
“He is a true No 9, a target forward,” head coach Pablo Mastroeni said ina press release about the signing. “He has very good movement with the ability to bring others into play but he is a good finisher too. So he adds to the offense we already have and he wants to challenge himself in MLS. We believe that he has the right type of mentality for our group.”
The 24-year-old made 10 appearances and scored two goals for Nueva Chicago, who are in the Argentine First Division. The forward has also spent recent seasons playing for IFK Mariehamn in the Finnish top division, netting 23 goals in 47 games.
A goalscorer is what the Rapids need, as they have only found the back of the net seven times in their first eight games, which is tied with two other clubs at 13th out of 20 MLS franchises.
What do you think of the Rapids signing their third Argentine player this year? Think Solignac will put Colorado’s offense on the right track?

I think this is actually a pretty exciting signing. I watched his goals video and it looks like the way he scored his goals are the exact way that the Rapids have been feeding their strikers, who haven’t been able to finish. He seems to fit perfectly, but now what about Kevin Doyle?
The Argentine 1st division isn’t as prestigious as it used to be. There are currently 30 clubs in that top division. Nueva Chicago being newly promoted in January along with nine other clubs.
why is Messi playing goalkeeper?
that’s his cousin, the tick
“The forward has also spent recent seasons playing for IFK Mariehamn in the Finnish top division, netting 23 goals in 47 games”
So we know he’s at least better than Freddy.
