The first installment of the New York derby, between the New York Red Bulls and New York City FC, headlines this weekend’s MLS action and kicks off the latest episode of The SBI Show.
Episode 205 of The SBI Show takes a closer look at the matchup at Red Bull Arena on Sunday, including the highly-anticipated battle in midfield and David Villa’s first trip to face his team’s new rival.
Co-host Garrett Cleverly and I also discuss the U.S. Under-20 World Cup roster, including the snubs and players to watch heading into the tournament later this month.

Solid show, fellas…
The Arena impersonation was awesome! Please make this a regular thing!
Who’s Rall? haha
also bickering is getting annoying -_-
Yanks Abroad is dead. (There have been few posts lately, but now they’re offline.)
Bummer. Before SBI, that was the first website that I knew of that covered our guys over there.
It was a matter of time. The past four or five years was a steady decline from my viewpoint. They’ll be missed…
No offense to Brian and the other staff, but I almost solely went for the user-generated content in the forums. I did like reading the articles, but they came out too few and far between and usually a few days to a week or more past relevancy.
RIP Yanks-abroad
Real bummer, I had 1200+ posts over several years…not to mention the MLS and EPL predictions leagues that won’t get finished now. Really sad that Brian let the site go, but hopefully it means he’s off to bigger and better.
How hard could it be for Ives and Co. to “buy” the forum code and import it here? Easier said than done, I’m sure…but surely, an endeavor worth pursuing. Having previously said that he was open to the idea but the logistics were untenable at the time, this seems like the perfect opportunity for Ives and SBI to establish their dominance over all other MLS oriented sites. I might even be willing to throw a finsky or a tenspot your way if a Kickstarter or whatever is required…just putting that out there.
