After starting the season on a four-game winless run, Minnesota United finally put a notch in the win column with their performance against the previously unbeaten Silverbacks.
Minnesota United handed the Silverbacks their first defeat, a 1-0 loss, behind a finish from Pablo Campos in the 43rd minute
Campos’ finish came on the heels of some flashy play from Miguel Ibarra and Kalif Alhassan, with the latter slipping the former into the box with a through ball. Ibarra responded by feeding Campos, who back-heeled a shot into the back of the net to give Minnesota United the game’s lone goal.
From there, Minnesota United cruised, as goalkeeper Sammy Ndjock was not required to make a save on the evening. All three Silverbacks shots were pushed off-target.
Ndjock’s counterpart, Steward Ceus, was called into action three times, stopping efforts from Ibarra in the 16th and 85th minute.
With the result, Minnesota United collects the team’s first victory of the season and moves the club’s points tally to six. Meanwhile, the Silverbacks remain on seven points while seeing their six-game season-opening unbeaten run snapped.
The Silverbacks will look to bounce back on May 16 with a home matchup against the Jacksonville Aramada, while Minnesota United move to build on the victory with a trip to Indy Eleven that same day.

Matty Horth looked fantastic again. Get him some support on this Atlanta team!
It’s nice that we were unbeaten til now, but you can’t play bunkered in, defensive footy every minute of every game and make it into the post season.
Gotta be a little more attack minded.
