After a disappointing 3-1 loss to France in the opening match of the Toulon Tournament, the U.S. Under-23 Men’s National Team hopes to rebound in their second match of the tourney.

However, the Netherlands stand in their way, a team that won it’s opening match, 3-2, over Costa Rica. With Olympic qualifying beginning in October, each test helps prepare the U.S. for qualification into the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The U.S. and the Netherlands Under-23 team will kick off at Stade Perruc today in Hyeres, France (11 a.m. ET, BeIN Sports).

  1. The US should really be trying to hold onto possession here in the 70th instead of finding outlets for counters. It’s only piling more pressure on them when the dutch inevitably get the ball back

  2. And Julian Green is involved in all three goals. Now I’m not gonna claim he is the best cause of one good game cause he’s young and still developing just like I’m not going to claim he sucks cause of one bad year. That’s what I don’t get about the people who comment on. Like slowleftarm who’s despisement in Jurgen trickles down to Green. Who then just says things about Green that lack any substance.

    • You are using “involved” very loosely. Really it was just the corner-kick assist. In fairness to those that criticize J Green, one full-year is a much greater sample size than an 8 second run at goal and finish during the World Cup and a few minutes here and there during this game.

Green is still young and its too early to judge him, but the criticism is fair and on-point.

  3. i didn’t see their first game but they are actually attacking (gasp) the Dutch. don’t look intimidated and are using their superior athleticism and physicality to get loose balls. and julian green looks much better today

  4. Jerome Kiesewetter & Julian Green look terrific on the wings. Really causing some trouble for the Dutch.
