The second goal came in the 53rd minute, with Dieudonne Gbakle using a bit of incredible skill to win the ball and find space before striking the ball off of the bottom of the crossbar from 20-yards out.

In the 81st minute, Aboubabacar Doumbia got on the board for the final goal. Doumbia sprinted through the Ghana defense before placing a chipped ball into the corner of the net.

Mali will face Nigeria or Germany in the quarterfinals.

In overtime, Serbia found the back of the net again late. This goal, though, came off the foot of a Hungarian defender. Attila Talaber tried to clear a Serbia cross and ended up redirecting the ball into the back of his own net.

Serbia will face the U.S. on Sunday in the quarterfinals.

This game played to a well-matched 1-1 draw in regulation, with Senegal’s goalkeeper becoming the hero in penalties.

Senegal managed to score an all-important equalizer in the 83rd minute. It came from Sidy Sarr, who stole the ball off of Taras Kacharaba and shot a rocket high into the back of the net past Ukraine’s goalkeeper.

Senegal won, 3-1, on penalties, after the teams went scoreless in extra time. Senegal’s goalkeeper, Ibrahima Sy, was the hero on the night as he saved three penalties to send his side through to the next round.

Senegal will face either Austria or Uzbekistan in the quarerfinals.

    • That first goal was a reminiscent of a classic Arsenal or Barcelona finish. Ridiculous first time skill from the Mali players. Assuming Germany beats Nigeria, that could be an interesting QF matchup
