Argentina will try to live up to the favorites tag with a strong opening to the Copa America against Paraguay.

Last year’s FIFA World Cup runners-up start life in Group B this afternoon. The Albiceleste cruised past Paraguay in their past three meetings, including a 5-2 win on the road during World Cup qualifying.

Qualifying for Euro 2016 keeps the international action going through the morning and afternoon. Ireland and Scotland face off in Group D, with the latter just ahead in the middle of the table.

The Women’s World Cup continues, with Brazil and Spain clashing in a battle of top teams in Group E. France can seal a spot in the next round from Group F with a win against Colombia.

Later, Brazil and Portugal kick-off in the Under-20 World Cup quarterfinal round. Later in the night and into early morning, the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team faces Serbia.

  1. Also, SBI, you guys really need to list the competition next to the matchups. With several international competitions going on at once, just listing Country A vs. Country B is useless.

    • Yeah I have to second this suggestion. I like and regularly use these SBI listings because they consolidate all of the games I might be interested in watching, but this list left me wondering what the gender of the competitors would be, as well as the age group and competition (if any). Seems like an easy enough tweak, and it would definitely add value.

  2. I was wondering how Colombia was beating France and then I turned on the game and the AR missed a blatant offside attack by Colombia and then a Colombian defender just straight up slapped the ball away from a Frenchwoman’s head without getting called for it so I guess that’s how.

We complain about MLS officiating all the time (and rightly so, it’s bad), but in this World Cup I am seeing officiating mistakes the likes of which I’ve NEVER seen, like not even in youth soccer. It’s ruining the competition. These women deserve better. You pour your life into this for four years only to have it ruined by a mistake that even someone unfamiliar with soccer wouldn’t make?

    • Something about the World Cup that brings this kind of people out of the woodwork.
Congratulations to Colombia. They were the better team and deservedly won.

    • There was a few refs that missed easy corner kick calls and potential penalties. One bad call went against Mexico in their match with Colombia, as they got a goal at the end of the 90 minutes, only for it to be questionably waived off. There was also the ref that called a Nigeria-Australia match at ’91 minutes with 4 minutes of injury time left, too….
