A busy week of MLS clashes continues into Sunday as two of the league’s premier rivalries headline the evening’s action.

Kicking off the evening will be the Hudson River Derby, as New York City FC hosts the New York Red Bulls for the second contest in the league’s newest rivalry. After claiming the opener back in May, the Red Bulls will look to win their second straight MLS contest, while NYCFC has claimed three straight victories in recent weeks.

Following the New York matchup, the league will move out west for a Cascadia clash between the Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders. Without Obafemi Martins and Clint Dempsey, the Sounders collide with a Timbers team coming off a setback following four straight wins.

If you will be watching today’s action, feel free to leave your thoughts, opinions, and some play-by-play in the comments section below.

Enjoy the action (today’s soccer on TV schedule after the jump):

5 p.m. – ESPN – New York City FC vs. New York Red Bulls

7 p.m. – Fox Sports 1 – Portland Timbers vs. Seattle Sounders

  1. Surprised at the lack of comments.

Go Redbulls. The win is good for their real rivalry (this isn’t a rivalry yet).
