The U.S. Women’s National Team begins its quest for a third World Cup title and first since 1999 when it faces Australia in the tournament opener for both teams (7:30pm, Fox Sports 1).
The U.S. begin play in the tournament’s Group of Death, and the fireworks seen in the group opener between Nigeria and Sweden in a 3-3 tie show just how tough the group will be. The draw also means that the winner of USA-Australia can take control of the group.
As expected, Alex Morgan is not in the starting lineup as she works her way back from injury. Abby Wambach will lead the U.S. attack, while Megan Rapinoe is back in the lineup after overcoming a slight knock.

I’m seeing several questionable calls against the U.S. side.
I thought commentary was suppose to be unbiased. They are making it completely obvious who they are rooting for.
The US is extremely fortunate to be tied. Australia has been head and shoulders better through 30 minutes.
Always can count on Pinoe!
