Maki Tall’s summer may have not started out like he would have liked, but it has just gotten a whole lot better.
Tall announced via Twitter on Tuesday that he has signed with Switzerland outfit FC Sion. The 19-year-old forward most recently played for French club Red Star FC on loan from Lille, but he will now look for first-team minutes in the Swiss Super League with a club in Sion that finished in seventh place out of 10 last season.
The move comes as good news for Tall, who saw his Under-20 World Cup campaign with the U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team cut short because of an injury. The promising prospect started and scored in the Americans’ 2-1 win vs. Myanmar in the tournament opener, but sustained a broken left toe that ruled him out for the remainder of the World Cup.
Tall played a combined 15 minutes in two league appearances last season for Red Star.
What do you think about Tall signing with FC Sion? Consider it a good move? Do you see him earning significant minutes this season?
