The UEFA Champions League playoff round is coming to a close, so teams across Europe will be giving it their all Tuesday in the second leg of competition.

The most intriguing UCL match of the day takes place in France, as AS Monaco tries to make a comeback against Valencia. The Spanish side has a 3-1 aggregate lead thanks to goals from Rodrigo, Daniel Parejo and Sofiane Feghouli in the first leg.

However, Monaco is always strong at home, boasting only one loss in its last 11 European fixtures at Stade Louis II.

In England, the second round of the Capital One Cup kicks off, and English Premier League teams enter the fray. Newly-promoted AFC Bournemouth travels to Victoria Park to meet League Two side Hartlepool United.

Later in the evening, the CONCACAF Champions League features two tasty matchups, with D.C. United squaring off against Montego Bay United and Santos Laguna playing Deportivo Saprissa. Both the American and Mexican side will be looking to remain undefeated in their respective group.

Copa MX action also stretches into the night, as the Cruz Azul vs. Atlante match headlines Tuesday’s Mexican soccer action.

      • i’m impatient too, but i wouldn’t want to opposite where a marketing company picks our team a month in advance like Brazil has it..

      • Woah,..woah…woah! Why are you using evidenced-based logic to counter act other people’s baseless suppositions? Some of us, like Andy, like to draw conclusions without supporting evidence.

    • beto,

I never saw much sense in announcing national team rosters much before the last set of games involving your potential roster.

Over the years I’ve seen many rosters that turned over significantly due to late injuries, real, imagined or otherwise. This is especially true for a team like the US that probably has to do a lot of negotiating up until the last minute or so.

      • how’s this for hear-witness reporting. My brother, who shares an office with me, listened to the match on his computer. He said that “Gentlemen Jim” was giving Ream kudos and his efforts were drawing oohs and ahhhs from the fans. Also reported that he won a ball and started the movement that lead to one of FFC’s goals.

        “Sounds” like he did fine.

sub was probably tactical and maybe Ream was spent.
