The Vancouver Whitecaps made short work of one of their biggest rivals to storm atop the Western Conference Saturday.
Facing off with a returning Clint Dempsey and the Seattle Sounders at a hostile CenturyLink Field, the Whitecaps cruised, picking up a 3-0 victory while earning recognition as SBI MLS Team of the week.
Led by a brace from Pa Modou Kah, the Whitecaps were the dominant team from the opening whistle, taking it to their local rivals with a trio of highlight-reel finishes. Kah and Pedro Morales provided the firepower while David Ousted provided a trio of saves to further establish themselves as one of the teams to beat out West.
The victory moves the Whitecaps one point above FC Dallas for the West’s top spot, while earning SBI MLS Team of the Week recognition over Orlando City and the Chicago Fire.
What did you think of the Whitecaps’ performance? Which team stood out to you this past weekend?

Nice team but poor depth at striker
Yes, but midfield is stacked
Don’t feed the euro-troll
Crappy, cheapskate Seattle team…but good effort.
missing Martins, Pappa, and Pineda
Pineda was on the pitch (but was missing in action).
