Last season’s UEFA Champions League runners-up may have been underdogs Tuesday, but Juventus emerged from the Etihad with all three points to kick off the group stages.
After conceding the opener, goals from Mario Mandzukic and Alvaro Morata proved to be enough for Juve to topple Manchester City, 2-1, Tuesday night in Manchester to headline Group D action.
Seeing Man City take the lead in the 57th minute through a Giorgio Chiellini own goal, Juve responded 13 minutes later via Mandzukic. The Croatian’s finish came on a perfectly-weighted ball in from Paul Pogba, whose pass found a sliding Mandzukic to level the scoreline.
Just 11 minutes later, Morata snatched all three points for the visiting team, as the Spaniard fired a curling effort off the post and over the line to seal an away win for the Italian giants.
Here’s a closer look at the rest of Tuesday’s Champions League action:

Hector Moreno,…Mexican. Got it.
At least they play top league soccer UEFA Champions League, while our Americans are relegated to second division teams and MLS.
What does him being Mexican have to do with it?
Who launched the dirty two footed tackle on Shaw?
Does really matter? Other than Memphis man u sucks. I surprised psv didn’t knock in a few more.
Hector Moreno… it was a horrible challenge. Completely reckless. Really have to feel for Shaw w/ all the injuries he’s dealt with.
