In his first comments about Manchester United since his move to Paris Saint-Germain, Angel Di Maria took no time in voicing his displeasure about his former club.

The 27-year-old winger said his time with the Red Devils started off well, but after suffering his hamstring injury, head coach Louis Van Gaal started playing him out of position. The decisions made by the coach only made Di Maria dislike his time there.

“Van Gaal has his philosophy and one of the things that made me want to leave is that,” Di Maria said. “It is difficult to adapt to Van Gaal. I had a couple of rows with him.

“I started well (at Manchester United) and after that I got injured. Things didn’t go well for me and Van Gaal changed my position. I spoke with (PSG manager Laurent Blanc) and his thinking was that I’d play in a similar position to where I did at Real Madrid.”

The move to France has worked well for Di Maria thus far, with him helping PSG secure a 3-0 win against AS Monaco in league play in which he provided the assist on Ezequiel Lavezzi’s goal.

MANCHESTER UNITED BLAMES REAL MADRID FOR DE GEA DEAL COLLAPSE

For a brief period, it seemed as if the David De Gea deal to Real Madrid was complete, but late paperwork foiled the move, and Manchester United is now blaming the Spanish club.

After agreeing to to send De Gea to Real Madrid for $44.5 million and Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas, the transfer fell through because paperwork did not arrive in time to the Spanish Premier League offices.

Manchester United claims it has proof that it submitted its paperwork on time, and per ESPN FC, the club feels as though Real Madrid should take the blame.

‘CHICHARITO’ EXCITED TO MAKE SWITCH TO BAYER

After struggling to be a consistent starter for Manchester United, Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez sealed a permanent move away from the club and English Premier League.

Now the 27-year-old Mexican international is headed to Bayer Leverkusen, where he is hoping to see more minutes not only in domestic play but also in the UEFA Champions League.

“I know two of the top three leagues in Europe having played in the English Premier League and the Primera Division in Spain,” Chicharito told Bayer Leverkusen’s website after the move was finalized, “Now I want to get to know the Bundesliga, as I’ve heard a lot about the fantastic stadiums in Germany and the unique fans.

“The Bundesliga is very much full of attacking teams and that really attracts me. It’s a miracle that I can play for a club like Leverkusen, who I know from the Champions League. Bayer 04 represents a great chance for me and I’d like to achieve things while I’m here.”

KEVIN STROOTMAN TO HAVE ANOTHER SURGERY ON LEFT KNEE

AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman will undergo yet another surgery on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old Netherlands international missed the 2014 World Cup due to a torn cruciate ligament, and he missed nine months of action before attempting to make a comeback, only for it to be halted due to cartilage damage.

Strootman announced the current state of his left knee on Twitter and said another surgery is the best plan for his future.

“There has been a lot of speculation in the media about my rehabilitation,” he said in multiple messages on Twitter. “Unfortunately due to a lack of power in my left leg I can’t compete at the highest level right now. Over the last few weeks we have consulted many top professors from all over. They have recommended — along with the Roma medical staff — that I have the ACL reconstructed into another position in order for me to have less problems with my knee in the future and to regain my power again.

“I will undergo surgery this morning,” he added. “I am hugely disappointed I can’t contribute to Roma and the Dutch national team for the next few months but will do everything to get back on the pitch as quickly as possible.”
