The latest stop on the U.S. Women’s National Team’s victory tour saw the reigning World Cup champions record yet another blowout.

Led by three goals from Carli Lloyd and a spectacular display from Crystal Dunn, the USWNT cruised past Haiti, 5-0, Thursday at Detroit’s Ford Field. The crowd of 34,538 was the largest to attend a soccer game in the venue’s history.

Haiti was selected as the USWNT’s opponent on short-notice, stepping in after Australia pulled out of a pair of friendlies due to labor issues. The USWNT showed no mercy for the favor, outshooting the opposition 36-1 on the evening.

Lloyd took just six minutes to open the scoring on a headed shot from a Dunn cross. Dunn played provider again on the second USWNT goal in the 33rd minute, feeding Christen Press with yet another cross. Lloyd then provided the third from the penalty spot four minutes later, smashing home after Press was taken down in the box to put the USWNT up 3-0 heading into halftime.

Lloyd completed her hat trick in the 69th by heading home a Lauren Holliday cross, while Dunn’s extra time header provided the winger with her first-ever international goal.

Dunn’s performance comes in her first start and second appearance of 2015.

With the win, the USWNT is now 3-0 on the team’s victory tour, winning by a combined scoreline of 20-2. In addition, the USWNT remains unbeaten in 99 consecutive home games (87-0-12), with the last loss at home coming to Denmark on Nov. 6, 2004.

Up next for the U.S. will be another matchup with Haiti on Sunday in Birmingham, Alabama.

  1. Wow, that wasn’t the beat-down I thought was coming. Haiti played much better than I expected. I was anticipating a double-digit goal total.
