The U.S. government was offered the approval of yet another country Monday to proceed with the extradition process of a former FIFA vice president.
According to Queen’s Counsel James Lewis, who represents the state, Trinidad & Tobago attorney general Faris Al Rawi signed “authority to proceed” documents in court Monday. The signatures have allowed U.S. officials to potentially move ahead with their extradition efforts of Jack Warner, who faces charges of racketeering, wire fraud and money laundering.
Warner is currently resisting the charges brought forth by investigators beginning in May, but according to AP, he is obligated to report twice a week to a police office, and his passport has officially been seized.
Last Thursday, Switzerland approved the extradition of another former FIFA vice president, Eugenio Figueredo.
Warner’s case will reconvene Friday.

MEXICO SENDS TEAM DOCTOR TO AID GUARDADO AT PSV
Andres Guardado was officially ruled out for at least four weeks Monday, but Mexico hopes that an appearance in the CONCACAF Cup is still in the cards.
Guardado’s club PSV reported that the El Tri captain underwent an ultrasound and MRI that revealed damage in his ankle ligaments Monday, and he will miss four-to-six weeks. Mexico’s federation (FMF) has jumped into action right away, though, announcing that team kinesiologist Carlos Pecanha will fly to the Netherlands to assist Guardado in recovery.
According to FMF’s statement, Mexico is hoping to accelerate his recovery so that Guardado can participate in Oct. 10th’s clash with the U.S. Men’s National Team in the Confederations Cup playoff game.
DIEGO COSTA, GABRIEL CHARGED BY FA WITH VIOLENT CONDUCT
Diego Costa may have escaped Chelsea’s derby match against Arsenal without a red card, but the English Football Association (FA) believes the Spaniard deserves to be punished.
The FA charged Costa, as well as Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista, with violent conduct, and a suspension is likely the occur, pending an appeal.
“Diego Costa has been charged for an alleged act of violent conduct which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video,” a statement read from the FA read.
“Off the ball incidents which are not seen at the time by the match officials are referred to a panel of three former elite referees,” the statement continued. “Each panel member will review the video footage independently of one another to determine whether they consider it a sending-off offence. For retrospective action to be taken, and an FA charge to follow, the decision by the panel must be unanimous.”
Costa appeared to swing his hand and strike Laurent Koscielny in the face nearing the end of the first half, and Gabriel provoked the situation further before he was dismissed. With Arsenal playing a man down, and eventually two men down, Chelsea won, 2-0, against its rival.

Will Warner be extradited to the U.S.? Will Guardado make an appearance for Mexico on Oct. 10? Does Costa deserve a suspension?

So basically Ambromivich is getting what is probably less than a parking ticket to his check book since there’s no chance Diego Costa is paying the fine. Starting to think MLS has it right with suspending players after reviewing certain plays (especially simulation).
I would think Warner will be extradited. I think Guardado will not be able to play for Mexico, and yes, Diego Costa should be suspended. The referees was either being woefully inattentive and should for that reason not be allowed to ref. Could it be they deliberately didn’t see Diego Costa’s shenanigans? Gabriel would not have reacted if Costa had not done what he did. Diego Costa, per Maurinho, did what he was required to do. Does that mean because he, the coach, told Costa to provoke, it should be alright? It is outrageous to think anything goes. It is particularly disturbing in view of the fact that there is so much betting going on in the BPL Big bucks don’t make it right.

It’s a no brainer for Trinidad. This guy was running for office. Perfect chance to flush him out.
