There might be one game left to play in the USL regular season, but the league’s playoff picture has already become fully clear.
The USL playoffs are set to kick off on Friday with the conference quarterfinals, while OKC Energy FC, Rochester Rhinos, Louisville City FC and Orange County Blues have each earned byes to the conference semifinal round.
Kickstarting the tournament will be a battle between the Colorado Springs Switchbacks and Seattle Sounders 2, which is one of three MLS affiliate clubs among the 12-team field. The match is set to be held at the Switchbacks’ Sand Creek Stadium, with the winner earning a match against Energy FC.
Saturday’s action presents a clash between New York Red Bulls II and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at Red Bull Arena, as the two sides battle for a date with the Rhinos. In addition, the Charleston Battery host the Richmond Kickers to claim a conference semifinal clash with Louisville.
Finally, a California clash between Sacramento Republic and LA Galaxy II is scheduled for Saturday at Bonney Field. The two sides split their previous two encounters at the Republic’s home, and Saturday’s edition will yield a meeting with the Orange County Blues.

7:30 p.m. – Charleston Battery vs. Richmond Kickers
