International friendlies. European Cup qualifiers. MLS.

There’s something for everyone on this jam-packed Saturday.

A full slate of weekend action is already underway, but there are still many more intriguing games on tap. Spain takes on Slovakia in a 2016 European Cup qualifier, and is seeking revenge after previously suffering a surprise 2-1 loss last October.

A stateside friendly between Brazil and Costa Rica will also be played. Neymar is unlikely to play in the game held at Red Bull Arena because of injury, but head coach Dunga will still have several other stars like Orlando City’s Kaka at his disposal. Costa Rica, meanwhile, will be under the guidance of new manager Oscar Ramirez for the first time.

In MLS action, the Montreal Impact will try to move past the recent Frank Klopas firing in a meeting with the Chicago Fire. The Seattle Sounders and Toronto FC play in arguably the biggest league match-up of the weekend, however, when they collide at CenturyLink Field.

Enjoy the action (today’s soccer on TV schedule after the jump):

    • how crazy is it that TFC has 3 field players on the bench ? they have like 11 or 12 people away on intl duty, injured or away on personal reasons. can MLS finally have intl breaks???

  1. on a random note, i really wish Sean Johnson would go to a better team… i feel like he’s wasting away on chicago.

    • Think of it like this, you actually want your best keepers on bad teams. They get MANY more reps that way, especially when they’re younger. Now as far as defensive management goes, that might suffer a little, but hey, he’s learning early about all the things a defense shouldn’t do.

  2. Drogba with the hat trick in his first start… MTL gonna be a different team next season. they might even sneak into the playoffs this year and wreak havoc…
